Gorgeous dress, Cinderella high healed shoes, aching feet. Not exactly how you imagined your Prom night right? Being sure the shoe fits correctly is the key to surviving the evening with your souls in tack . But maybe there is an alternative to those skinny 5 inch platforms. Consider the flat. I have done some research and was surprised to see not only the quantity of fashionable flats available but how fierce the designs are. Whether you are into bows, gems or buckles there is a flat for you. And they are affordable! With the flat, you will find yourself dancing until dawn!
I recently went to a flea market in my local area. I absolutely love the quest of finding something old that can be re-purposed and made new again. As a trolled through the isles I starting noticing the mannequins with beautiful vintage hats, jewelry and accessories. It was as if they were reaching out to me. Here are some of the pictures I took. I asked myself; ” is this a fashion graveyard or a treasure trove?” I voted the later.
Had to share. This is one of the coolest video’s I have ever seen. Animal or human? You decide. Click the link below.

Berks County fashion designer, Justin Orlick, 17, finds inspiration in Third World Travels
I have been fortunate and blessed to travel to many third world countries to provide volunteer support for sustainability projects and education programs. I have travelled to Thailand, Vietnam and Peru. I have also travelled throughout Europe including Italy and France. I am always amazed by the people and inspired by the colors, textures, textiles and art around me. Whenever possible I try to incorporate these elements into my designs.
I am so honored to be featured in this Reading Eagle article.
